Email 2.0 with Zimbra
For most people in business, email is probably the most
useful web related application; it's replaced snail mail and
fax to a significant extent, it provides a quick way to communicate
with multiple people, and to send response quickly...

Microsoft's History of "Innovation"
Although I knew some of the history of products like Windows
or DOS, I was surprised at the number of products the email
suggested originated elsewhere. The idea stuck in my mind,
but since the email didn't give any evidence I didn't know
whether to trust it. So I started noting down sources that
backed up the claims in the email. Here they are...

Will wearable computing wear us out?
Wearable computing is a great idea - you could write an
email on the bus, watch a film on the walk home, play doom
in a meeting, but will carrying all that stuff around wear
us out?

GMail is not about AJAX
It's not about 2789.508298 megabytes (and counting) of
free storage either. And when we hear about search, don't
sort even harder to spot what is important and understand.
What really differs GMail from other email clients is management
of email-flow - the hardwired knowledge.

Using PHP to create Linux Accounts for Webmail
Self Signup.
Do you want your users to signup themselves to your webmail
like RoundCube, SquirrelMail, etc? What you need is to allow
them to create a limited Linux/Unix account from within your
PHP scripts. Probably even not for email purposes, you might
want to give Linux accounts to your users, here is a very
simple script to do that!

Photos: BlackBerry through the ages
Do you remember your first BlackBerry? Your life hasn't
been the same since, right? Tied to your email, always-on
as far as your boss is concerned... remind yourself how it
all started with this photo story. Funny how the first BlackBerry
is only six years old, yet it looks like a museum piece.

Put your boss on Santa's naughty list!
This is the coolest thing i've seen in ages! You can add
your boss, spouse, kids, friends or collegues to Santa's naughty
list. And he sends them an email telling them what they did
and what they must do to get back on the nice list! Even better,
the email comes from Santa, so in effect it's anonymous -
the opportunities to abuse this are endless!

Barack Obama's Senior Senator Starts Petition
So He'll Run For President
On Monday, one of Obama's biggest boosters, Sen. Dick
Durbin, launched an online petition urging his fellow Illinois
Dem to run for president. In a message emailed to supporters
and posted on his campaign Web site, Durbin giddily professes
to be a "huge Barack Obama fan" and says the junior senator
has what it takes for the White House.

Organic Click Fraud
Google prognosticator predicts 2007 will see the search
engine using link click through rates, URL's typed into your
browser, links clicked in your emails, and more to determine
SERP's in the coming year. How do they come up with this stuff?

Yahoo! Makes Big Changes to Bidding Information
In an email today, I received a message regarding Yahoo!
and a change to the Search Marketing - a big one in my opinion.
I actually liked being able to see competitor bids, as it
allowed someone to slide their bid in accordingly. They didn't
come out and say it, but I think they wanted to alleviate
"Price Is Right" type of bidding wars.
