Radio Shack fires 400 employees by email
Getting fired is traumatic enough, but imagine getting fired by email. Radio Shack emailed layoff Tuesday morning to 400 of its workers at the Forth Worth Texas headquarters. The company had warned on 10 August that it would cut hundreds of jobs. Employees were warned that the job layoffs would be sent via email.

We've all heard of sites that reunite old buddies and school chums etc, this site is similar and free, it's a place to list your name and online contact info such as IM clients allowing anyone who searches for you to get intouch. If you do not list IM clients then you can send a message to their email via Dirstar. Nice use of AJAX, simple UI.

YouTube pulls a Facebook move, circa 2004
